4th, 5th, & 6th Grade Special Education Teacher

ABOUT ME

I am the special education teacher for the upper wing and service students with disabilities in the resource room for Math, Reading, and/or Writing. This will be my second year teaching and my first year at Clinton Elementary School. I received my Master of Education in Special Education at the University of Maine in Orono in December 2016. I live with my husband and two dogs. When I am away from school I like spent time with my family doing things around the house or adventuring out of town. I love working with students with disabilities because I feel I can make a difference in their lives as they struggle the most in school. I like to see their progress and help them realize they can achieve their goals as long as they work hard and stay focused.

RESOURCE ROOM

Students who qualify for Special Education Services may come to the resource room for Math, Reading, and/or Writing to receive direct instruction in a small group setting. Students often receive accommodations and/or modifications based on their individual needs in the regular education setting. Testing and assessment accommodations and/or modifications may be in the student's IEP if the team determines it to be necessary for the child to be successful. Students who receive Special Education Services are required to have an Individualized Education Program (IEP), which is developed by a team that consists of the parent(s), regular education and special education teachers, and administrators, as well as other specialists who may work with the student(s). Parents are encouraged to be a part of the IEP team and process.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Anything discussed in an IEP meeting is considered confidential and can only be repeated on an as-needed basis with teachers and specialists who may work with the student(s). If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please feel free to contact me using the information below.

CONTACT INFORMATION

I am available to meet with parents/guardians during my daily office hours after school from 3:00-3:30pm or by appointment. Do not hesitate to contact me.
