Hello My Name Is Mrs. Davis

About Me: I have been working in this school district since 2015. Before that,
I am the computer and iPad teacher for all students at
Albion and Clinton Elementary Schools, as well as and Fairfield Primary.
I was a pre-k/Head Start teacher for 8 years. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and son, kayaking, and watching lots of sports. I am certified ski patroller with the National Ski Patrol and winter sports are a huge part of my family's life! We spend most of our winter skiing and snowboarding around Maine's amazing ski mountains.
Classes/Activities: Because I teach grades k-6 in 3 schools, activities vary by grade and ability level. Kindergarten and 1st grade students were recently introduced to the app "Teach Me: Kindergarten" or "Teach Me: 1st Grade", where they work on fine motor skills, spelling, identifying sight words, complete basic math questions, all while earning digital rewards on the game. Each child has their own personalized section to save their work as they continue to learn through the year.
In 2nd grade, the students have learned how to access the new Chrombit computers we received this year. They had to learn to log in. This was an easy task for most, as we use a username and password system for some educational sites such as IXL and Teach Your Monster To Read.
3rd graders have gotten the hang of their new Chromebooks. Along with the 4-6th graders, the students learned to access assignments via Google Classroom. With upper level grades, I have done writing prompts, slide show creation, spread sheets and graphing, as well as strengthening typing skills.
The importance of the internet cannot be stressed enough, which is why every grade level builds upon previous classroom studies. I will cover cyber-bullying, digital citizenship, effective communication, privacy, smart searching, digital footprint and more.
I look forward to continue to assist your children as they grow in the world of technology! Please feel free to email me at any time!
